Infiltrated through her spirit, melancholy,

A tear trickled down, as recalled she,
A magnificent spring, the blossoms, the fragrance…
The look, the words, his smile, her glee,
The fond touch, the tender kiss, the warm embrace…

Still coos the koel, sun shines bright,
A miracle is what her desperate heart does crave…
Lays awake she on intoxicating nights,
Still there remain flowers, but on her man’s grave…

Rolled down her cerise cheeks,

Unvoiced tears, left her trembling lips, a fervent prayer...

Euphoric with the glorious victory,

Returned from the front line, the chivalrous warriors...

A fear shattered her exhilaration,

On being unable to trace a visage resembling her lover...

With her bliss butchered, brutally,

Gloom engulfed her fate, rendering all avenues blurred...

Still she looked up at the street, and,

Surged back her hopes with the silhouette she observed...

The sight of his divine splendour,

Skipped a beat her lovelorn heart, left her eyes, a tear...

Lingering zealously in the passionate wind,

Voyaged the heart-wrenching cooing of the koel, lovelorn…

Solacing her desperately yearning heart,

She waited, sanguine of his return, on the streets, forlorn…

On the eve of his departure, he had said,

“Order me once, Oh my love, not to leave, I’ll go away, never…

Oh, the master of my enslaved heart,

I’ll stay behind, in your service, loving you all my life, forever…”

Silence was the Princess’s answer,

Averting her gaze from his stare, she lowered her head…

Intensely dismayed at her response,

He marched on the path, to the gory war, which lead…

Her eyes brimmed up with tears unshed,

Had walked away her love, unable to fathom her emotions…

“Don’t go, my Knight”, She whispered,

But far had gone the young warrior, to perceive her petition…

Days gave way to months, years went by,

Not a moment did pass, in which, she was oblivious of him…

He wouldn't return, she was aware,

Yet appeased her aching heart, hope’s undeterred beam…

The Neglected Boon...

Charmed, this very day, I was,

Appreciating these divine gifts, today,

I enriched my sapless world...

I stared at the hazy future,

Endeavouring to fathom,

The vision, so blurred.

Conscious that I had to proceed ahead,

My heart wished otherwise,though.

To the safer confines of my world,

I yearned to retreat back,

To the world I had left far behind.

Unaware of what waited for me ahead,

I marched forward,

On the untreaded path.

With each step my fears resurfaced,

Uncertainty gripped my soul.

A glimmer of light caught my eyes,

Curling a smile on my lips,

Hopes surged back to my heart.

I darted forward to the radiance,

Vigour rushing to my limbs.

However, alas, it vanished, yes,

The glimmer, disappeared.

I rummaged around, but

It was nowhere to be found.

“A mirage!”, I sighed.

Once more, I trotted forward,

Chasing a new beam of hope,

Which yet again, slipped from my clutches.

Moments paved way to days,

And days, to months.

Ages went by, yet I am stranded there,

Searching my destiny, pursuing my fate,

For peace, for joy, I look for.

I still follow each bright twinkle,

Bask in momentary ecstasy,

Shedding tears when it forsakes me.

The realisation hit upon me,

This day, that every spark that emanated,

Was from me, from my soul.

I wasted a lifetime in exploring,

The harmony, my bliss,

That lies nowhere, but in introspection.

That I am all alone here, with all my agonies and strife.

Daggers of loneliness wounds my heart and soul,
Murders the enthusiasm, inspiration in it,
Kills my desires, wishes and even my sacred prayers
To make me realize the in this world, I am alone.

This lesson from life I learn
The facts that have left me amazed and stunned,
That my peace, bliss and harmony
